Originating in Cincinnati, OH in 1876, baseball has endured numerous hardships throughout U.S. history, earning its reputation as "America's Pastime" and profoundly shaping the nation's sporting culture, fostering a sense of camaraderie among fans.

Baseball’s History

The MLB saw its attendance record peak in 2007 and has had a consistent 14% drop off in viewership since 2011. Over the years, the MLB All-Star game has also witnessed a significant decline, with a staggering 66% decrease in viewership from 1992. Furthermore, the 2023 World Series Championship experienced a notable 50% decline in viewership compared to 2016.

Baseball Now

The truth is, Baseball is dying…. but it’s NOT dead yet.

This project aims to develop a system incentivizing a new spark of interest to the masses in the MLB.

The marketing strategy revolves around leveraging email campaigns and Instagram advertisements to direct individuals to the Nike Sneakers app, where they will find comprehensive guidelines for entering the raffle for the limited edition Nike AF1 Low “What the MLB” sneakers. The attraction of this raffle lies in the anticipation, as the sneakers won’t be unveiled until the start of the All-Star Game.

Marketing Strategy

For the commemoration of the MLB’s 150th year, a redesign of the ticket is needed to mark the significant milestone. The previous ticket designs lacked engagement and failed to inspire fans, often being discarded after use. By reimagining the ticket beyond its functional purpose, it was crafted to serve as a cherished keepsake, elevating the fan experience and honoring the timeless tradition of collecting baseball cards.
